Intermediate Bookkeepers (ALU0001)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, including bank reconciliations and processing of journals using a variety of programs
  • Assist/review bank & payment matters
  • Reporting in a timely and accurate manner to queries
  • Processing month-end transactions including accruals, prepayments, provisions and depreciation.
  • Assistance with the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts, period-end close processes
  • Preparation of payroll tax STP and workers’ compensation reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly Business and Instalment Activity StatementsKeeping the manager informed of progress and any issues arising
  • Communicating and dealing with colleagues professionally and courteously
  • Tasks deemed necessary to ensure an excellent customer experience, as determined by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completed a Bachelor of Accountancy, Business Administration, or related field
  • CA/CPA certification is preferred but not required
  • 2-3 years of experience working in an Australian bookkeeping or accounting role
  • Experience with Xero or other cloud accounting packages
  • Experience with DEXT, Navision, Netsuite, and SAP is desirable but not required
  • Strong numerical and IT skills
  • Sound Microsoft Excel skills
  • Has the ability and willingness to learn new systems and tools, as needed
  • Good attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately to tight time schedules
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Willing to learn and be keen and committed in a working environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Productivity needs to meet the minimum expectation set for each task
  • Accuracy and quality of work are required and will be measured
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an expectation
