Payroll Officers (MOR0010)

The accountant will be payroll focused and is responsible for end-to-end payroll ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, operational requirements, leveraging systems and compliance with regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years in same/similar role.
  • Experience using Pronto and/or Tanda is highly regarded.
  • Strong ability to review calculations and set up standardised reconciliation workbooks and processes.
  • Award interpretation experience.
  • Familiarity with auditing and reconciling payroll records.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with employees, colleagues and external stakeholders.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process employee payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, legislation, regulations, and tax obligations.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to obtain necessary payroll data.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salary, benefits, and deductions.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely and accurate payroll information.
  • Manage and maintain confidentiality and data security of payroll information.
  • Utilize payroll software and systems effectively and ensure their proper functioning.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers or tax authorities.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, tax filings, and other required documentation.
  • Prepare and process Payroll Tax and Superannuation Lodgements
  • Annualised Salary Reconciliations.
  • End of Month Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize the utilization of the payroll system, supporting the implementation of system improvement initiatives.
  • Preparing payroll reporting. – Conduct regular audits for data integrity and compliance.
  • Execute the Onboarding and Offboarding process of staff.
