Payroll Officers

Our Payroll Officers are responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and benefits. They handle payroll-related tasks, including calculating wages, taxes, and deductions, while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The list below is not exhaustive, and the duties/responsibilities may vary to meet the overall objectives of the company.

  • Process employee payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, legislation, regulations, and tax obligations.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to obtain necessary payroll data.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salary, benefits, and deductions.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely and accurate payroll information.
  • Manage and maintain confidentiality and data security of payroll information.
  • Utilize payroll software and systems effectively and ensure their proper functioning.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, such as payroll service providers or tax authorities.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, tax filings, and other required documentation.
  • Assisting with Payroll Tax and Superannuation Lodgements
  • Payroll systems configuration and maintenance of employee records
  • Annualised Salary Reconciliations.
  • Continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years in the same/similar role.
  • Experience using Pronto and/or Tanda is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of wage calculations, deductions, benefits, and taxation.
  • Award interpretation experience.
  • Familiarity with auditing and reconciling payroll records.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with employees, colleagues and external stakeholders.
