The candidate will manage daily finance tasks, including budget analysis, reconciliations, accruals, and processing Accounts Receivable and Payable, while supporting Finance Managers to ensure smooth operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Finance:
- End-to-end management of the financial control of the records of the allocated Property Funds and corporate entities.
Financial Control:
- Journals: Posting of journals to accurately update the underlying trial balances
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Monthly balance sheet reconciliations with variances investigated and explained
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Use of Xero to perform accounts payable and receivable functions
- Preparation and processing of owner remittances
Bank Reconciliations:
- Daily and manual receipting
- Bank reconciliations including Corporate Card Reconciliations
Reporting
- Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements for presentation to Senior Management within agreed timetables
- Manage the delivery of quarterly investor distributions, distribution statements and annual investor tax statements.
- Complete the BAS, IAS, PAYG, and other tax liabilities and ensure remission to the ATO when due.
- Assist Finance Managers with annual tax filings and audit reporting.
Budget and Forecasting
- Participation in property and fund-level budgets and forecasts
- Process improvement of budgeting and forecasting process as part of continuous improvement
Projects
- Process Improvement: Understanding current state processes and proposing and implementing updates where appropriate/effective
- Adhoc: Finance and system projects as required and identified
Projects
- Work closely with external Property Managers, Tax advisers and the wider team
- Act as a true business partner
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role, real estate experience preferred
- Degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical problem solving and lateral thinking skills
- Exceptional organization, interpersonal skills, and customer focus
- Pro-active, strong team player with a flexible positive outlook
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Xero
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite
