Senior Accountant (THN0003)

Looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and providing guidance on accounting matters.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and administer a portfolio of clients.
  • Providing technical support, feedback, and guidance to team members that work/assist with your clients.
  • Assist & review the flow of information between clients and our firm.
  • Manage and review work to final stage for Partner to sign off
  • Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and calculations.
  • Advanced knowledge of indirect taxes i.e. GST, Business Activity Statements, and Instalment Activity Statements
  • Review of workpapers, analysis of client data and transactions and setting up accounts onto the accounting package in accordance with the organization’s standards
  • Ensure that all work is error-free and professionally presented and complies with our procedures and systems.
  • Oversee and assist with research and accurate interpretation of taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings for clients when required.
  • Liaising with ATO and other government organizations as necessary i.e. OSR, ASIC
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other relevant legislation and rulings.
  • Participate in external and internal training as required.
  • Preparation of complex individual, company, trust, partnership tax returns within extremely limited supervision and direction
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce/business with an emphasis in Accounting, CA or CPA completed.
  • 7+years within an Australian public practice firm, references required.
  • Advanced understanding of the relevant accounting standards, Tax legislation and Corporation
  • Act relating to the work undertaken
  • A strong knowledge of Tax Acts and legislation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management & organizational skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal & written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with accounting software such as XPM, Xero, MYOB and BGL Super would be advantageous.
