Our Senior Tax Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, specializing in tax-related matters. This position requires a seasoned professional with an in-depth understanding of tax regulations, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic tax planning guidance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial statement preparation
- Prepare individual, companies, trusts, and partnerships tax returns
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements
- Assist with Xero Reconciliation, Payroll queries and other software advice
- Prepare CGT and FBT calculations
- Assist with identifying tax minimization strategies and tax planning
- Liaise with ATO on client matters
- Identify general accounting and taxation advice which should be relayed to clients via the manager
- Meet workflow deadlines
- Maintain and update client files
- Productivity needs to meet the minimum expectation set for each task and work within budget hours
QUALIFICATIONS
- Should be a graduate of Finance/Accounting or any business-related course
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Complete knowledge of Client accounts and businesses
- At least 3 or more years of Australian Accounting experience (GST, Tax, and Depreciation)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Advanced Knowledge of accounting tools such as MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks, BankLink and other applications that customers use
- Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Can ensure all deliverables are fulfilled on time
