Mayflower Consulting works at the intersection of compliance, technology and people. Our clients include global fund managers and medium to large superannuation funds across Australia. Before Partnering with hammerjack

As a boutique consultancy, we operate with a lean but highly skilled team. The nature of our work, particularly around Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) production and technical communications, means that demand can be intense and deadline driven. We were finding it increasingly difficult to absorb that workload within our core team without compromising quality or placing unsustainable pressure on our people.

The reality of employing staff in Australia also weighed heavily on the decision. When you factor in hourly rates, superannuation, insurances, leave entitlements and all the associated on-costs, growing your local headcount is a significant financial commitment and one that's hard to justify for roles that are critical but don't necessarily need to be based here. We wanted a smarter solution, and a provider who would handle all that complexity for us, so we could focus on the work rather than the administration of employment.

We needed people who could embed into our workflows and operate as true team members, not contractors working at arm's length. That's what prompted us to explore offshore staffing, and ultimately, to reach out to hammerjack.

Through hammerjack, we brought on two Technical Communications Analysts - Cheli and Oli - and both have become genuinely integral members of the Mayflower team.

Cheli brings over seven years of experience in financial services content management, with a sharp focus on usability and customer experience. Oli has a strong background in content writing, editing and communications. Together, they support our PDS production work, technical document writing and editing, and communications output, working directly with our team using our tools, our processes and our standards.

Day-to-day, communication is seamless. They're present in all of our team meetings and are responsive and proactive. There's no sense of distance and work as our colleagues, not outsourced resources.

The difference Cheli and Oli have made is hard to overstate. Our capacity to take on and deliver high-quality work has grown significantly, without adding pressure to our Australian-based team.
