Our Senior Tax Accountants are seasoned financial professionals who specialize in tax planning, preparation, and compliance for individuals, businesses, or organizations. They lead and manage tax-related projects, provide strategic tax advice, and ensure that clients or the organization adhere to all relevant tax laws and regulations while optimizing their tax liabilities.
Qualifications
- Australian or other recognised Accounting degree
- Completed or studying toward CPA/CA qualification
- 3 to 5 years of Australian Taxation experience
- Sound taxation experience and knowledge
- Sound knowledge of GST
- Good time management skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting applications including Handitax, MYOB, Xero and QuickBooks preferred
- Excellent use of Word, Excel and Outlook
Duties and Responsibilities
- Client meetings, including Income tax appointments
- Follow up with clients with queries
- Prepare individual tax returns (including rental properties and managed funds)
- Prepare partnership and trust tax returns
- Prepare company tax returns
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements
- Assist with Annual QBCC annual reviews and independent turnover reports
- Provide assistance with Xero Reconciliation, Payroll queries and other software advice.
- Prepare CGT and FBT calculations
- Assist with identifying tax minimisation strategies and tax planning
- Liaise with ATO on client matters
- Provide general accounting and taxation advice to clients
- Meet workflow deadlines
- Maintain and update client files
- Participate in training as necessary
- Other duties as required
