Accounting Admin Assistants

Our Accounting Admin Assistants are support professionals who provide administrative assistance to the accounting department. They perform tasks such as data entry, organizing financial documents, coordinating meetings, and handling general administrative duties to help maintain the smooth functioning of the accounting team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tax packs by compiling financial statements and tax returns documents based on inputs provided by the accountants.
  • Prepare and complete working papers according to client and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses.
  • Ensure all necessary tax return sections are filled out and with no validation errors
  • Downloading and sending out ATO correspondence via our automated software
  • Client database maintenance such as address updates in the CRM and ATO portal
  • Assistance with overall database updates
  • Sending out annual company statements for electronic signing
  • Sending clients miscellaneous documents
  • Liaising with accountants for ad hoc tasks as necessary
  • Processing of invoices
  • Spreadsheet maintenance
  • Pro-actively raise queries and suggestions regarding client’s records to promptly prepare the working papers
  • Apply technical proficiency and knowledge acquired through assigned work, self-study, course participation, and current technical reports and information study.
  • Remain knowledgeable with updates in the accounting software

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an Australian Accounting firm
  • Knowledge of Australian Taxation and Compliance is preferred

System and Application Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with accounting tools such as NowInfinity, GreatSoft, Xero Practice Manager, and ATO Smart Docs
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed

  • Works within the Hammerjack and Client quality guidelines
  • Ensures quality of work being delivered without being supervised
  • Must be self-motivated and have initiative
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Works within allotted budget hours for jobs assigned
  • Ensures all deliverables are fulfilled in a timely manner
