Our Assistant Accountant will be involved in a mix of financial accounting and management accounting duties. You will ensure the accurate and timely recording of general ledger (GL) data, accounts payable (AP) processing, and month-end reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
• Trust accounting tasks
• Work with other team members to ensure that all relevant broker-related issues are resolved in an efficient and effective manner
• Monitor contact points and ensure all accounts-related queries are responded to in an appropriate manner; strong customer service ethic
• Accounts payable and expense processing
• Bank reconciliations
• Accruals/prepayments
• End-of-month (EOM) journals and reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Ad hoc projects
Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or anything related
• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant; basic accounting standard knowledge
• Experience in Xero Accounting System
• Intermediate to advance Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Previous experience from the insurance industry highly regarded (but not required)
