The lead developer plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of client salon software. From research and planning to installation, to delivering technical solutions that are integral to the success of the business and penetration of the markets in which client salon software specializes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and maintenance of Salon Software and systems.
- Research, investigate and plan the implementation of new software and systems.
- As the development team grows, manage the department to meet key business objectives.
- Manage release building, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Provide estimations and clear information regarding the status of development (including weekly reporting).
- Oversee the development of automated systems including hardware staging, upgrading and deployments.
- Updating user manuals and technical support manuals including help files and consumer release notes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Computer Systems/Software Development or similar/ related course
- Extensive knowledge of Retail POS/Salon Software hardware and software solutions or similar is highly regarded
- High level of technical knowledge – experience with the following will be highly regarded:
- Borland C++ Builder IDE
- C++ principles and frameworks
- C#.Net
- PHP
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- RAD Studio (or equivalent)
- SQL Server
- MySQL
- DevOps/Cloud and Agile.
- Experience in working with data transfer/replication tools
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Has a high sense of initiative and self-motivation
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- A positive approach to business and professional manner
- Agile/Scrum training or certification desirable
