Corporate Accountants (THN0004)

The Corporate Accountant manages tax compliance and reporting, focusing on corporate tax and GST. This role ensures compliance, optimizes tax positions, and provides strategic tax advice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Tax compliance: Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, including corporate income tax, GST/VAT, and other relevant tax filings, ensuring full compliance with local and international tax laws.
  • GST/VAT management: Administer GST/VAT reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. Identify areas for tax efficiency and implement best practices to minimize tax liabilities related to indirect taxes.
  • Tax advisory: Provide tax advice on corporate transactions, structuring, acquisitions, and business operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s tax strategy.
  • Tax planning and strategy: Collaborate with senior management to develop tax-efficient strategies for the organization, optimizing both direct and indirect tax positions.
  • Cross-border tax coordination: Advise on international tax matters, including transfer pricing, withholding taxes, and VAT/GST implications for global operations.
  • Internal tax reporting: Ensure accurate and timely internal tax reporting, including forecasting tax liabilities and reporting tax expenses.
  • Risk management and audits: Manage tax audits, ensure proper documentation and compliance, and address any tax-related risks or disputes with authorities.
  • Tax research and updates: Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, especially those related to GST/VAT and corporate tax, and communicate these changes to senior management.
  • Commercial collaboration: Work closely with the commercial and finance teams to ensure that tax considerations are integrated into business strategies and commercial agreements.
  • Support business operations: Assist in business negotiations, contractual agreements, and other commercial operations with tax perspectives, helping to reduce tax liabilities and ensure tax efficiency.
  • Supervise junior staff: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior tax accountants, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and delivers accurate tax filings and reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional tax certifications (e.g., CPA, CTA) is a plus but is not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax accounting, including experience in corporate tax and GST/VAT compliance, with a strong commercial focus
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate tax, GST/VAT, and indirect tax regulations
  • Familiarity with international tax matters, including transfer pricing and cross-border tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TaxCalc, OneSource, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex tax laws and provide clear, actionable advice.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain tax implications to non-tax professionals.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), or similar tax certifications are highly preferred.
