The assistant accountant will be involved in a mix of financial accounting and management accounting duties. You will ensure the accurate and timely recording of general ledger (GL) data, accounts payable (AP) processing and month end reporting.
- Accounts payable and expense processing
- Bank reconciliations
- End of month (EOM) journals and reporting
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Accruals/prepayments
- Trust accounting tasks
- Variance analysis
- Ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified – accounting or business degree
- With aspirations to complete or have started your CA or CPA
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant; basic accounting standard knowledge
- Self-motivated and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Great attention to detail and the ability to be proactive
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience with Xero
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience from insurance industry highly regarded
