Assistant Accountant (RSL0004)

The assistant accountant will be involved in a mix of financial accounting and management accounting duties. You will ensure the accurate and timely recording of general ledger (GL) data, accounts payable (AP) processing and month end reporting.

  • Accounts payable and expense processing
  • Bank reconciliations
  • End of month (EOM) journals and reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Accruals/prepayments
  • Trust accounting tasks
  • Variance analysis
  • Ad hoc projects


  • Degree qualified – accounting or business degree
  • With aspirations to complete or have started your CA or CPA
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant; basic accounting standard knowledge
  • Self-motivated and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to be proactive
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Prior experience with Xero
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience from insurance industry highly regarded
