Quantity Surveyors

Our Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the costs and financial aspects of construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. They work to ensure that projects are completed within budget, while also meeting quality and safety standards, and may also be involved in procurement, risk management, and contract administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • License is an advantage but not a requirement
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience as Quantity Surveyor and/or Cost Estimator in a Residential Development Company
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies of various projects – land development, civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and finishing work
  • Thorough and updated knowledge of costs of construction materials and labor
  • Must be able to communicate well across all levels in the organization
  • Meticulous and attentive to details
  • Must have good communication and presentation skills
  • Must be an independent worker

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the management of costs relating to building and civil engineering projects by exercising cost control, forecasting and estimation
  • Minimize costs of a project and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality
  • Perform cost estimation of labor, materials, equipment, and time requirements using plans, specifications and construction documents provided by the Design Department
  • Provide cost estimates and bill of quantities
  • Prepare tender documents and bill of quantities for bidding as required by the Procurement Department
  • Assist the Procurement Department in the analysis of bids
  • Communicate to suppliers & manage RFI’s to manager or clients
  • Research, evaluate and provide analysis of new construction systems for future application
  • Provide report forecasts concerning cost of materials, labor and equipment related to the construction industry
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
